October Goals

October Goals 2016

Hello, my loves! I’m sorry for not writing much the last few weeks. I hope to write more this month. Without further ado, here are my goals for October. (Don’t get your hopes up. There aren’t any)

//Recap of September Goals//

  • Create a RoutineAfter a month of getting used to college, I feel like I’ve got a regular routine going. The thing is, my schedule fluctuates because classes alternate every other day. I personally love that. It’s just not the best thing in terms of making a routine. I currently have 2-3 different routines because of this setup, but it’s been working for me.
  • Update Editorial Calendar – I did update it. The question is, did I follow it? I was terrible about blogging this month. I was so ridiculously bad. I published three posts this month. I’m so sorry. It wasn’t even school or work. I just couldn’t bring myself to write. I created the images and outlined the posts, I just couldn’t write them for the life of me.
  • Join a Sponsorship Network– I did apply for one. I haven’t heard back from them yet, but fingers crossed.
  • Make a Study Plan – I have had a test every week this month and will continue to have a test every week until Thanksgiving Break. This plan has been working well for me so far. I have gotten A’s on every test. Hopefully, this trend will continue.
  • Make Connections Through Care.com – Check. I can’t wait to meet some awesome kids this month. (I work with special needs kids, for those of you who don’t know.)

//October Goals//

I’ve been pondering this all day and I decided not to write any goals this month. My life is relatively full right now with school, work, and blogging. I hope to do more blogging this month, of course, but I don’t want to think too much about specific goals. I couldn’t even think of anything specific this morning. I’ll focus on my semester goals and blogging goals a bit, but I don’t want to put too much thought into random goals this month. I just want to focus on school and continue blogging as I go. I’ll go back to posting monthly goals in November. I’m just gonna take a break, for now.

//Decatur Book Festival

I went to the Decatur Book Festival at the beginning of the month with two of my friends. We took the train then walked. The atmosphere was so nice. (The food was expensive, though) We were mostly there to see the author of the book An Ember In The Ashes, Sabaa Tahir. She reminds me of a mix of me and my friend Stellah. I’m not the only one who thought this.

Anyway, she was hilarious and I got my copy of her book signed. I highly recommend this book. I read both books in less than a week. All 900 pages of them. It is definitely my new favorite fantasy novel.

//Eid

Korbani Eid was also this month. I, unfortunately, couldn’t celebrate because it was on a school day. It got me thinking that Christian college students didn’t have to sacrifice Christmas or Easter for school, but every other religion has to take off work or miss class for theirs.

Whatever. We ended up having a party at our house the weekend after, so that was fun.

(Eid was almost at 9/11 this year. Imagine what people would think if we celebrated on that day.)

Well, that’s it for this month.

What are your goals for October?

  1. Your September looks absolutely lovely! Also, I completely agree with the whole not making goals for the month. Sometimes, setting goals just adds too much unnecessary stress into your life, especially when they’re more concrete, if that makes any sense. I prefer to make goals that are more flexible like “try something new” because I’d feel less bummed out and unaccomplished if I don’t complete it.

    I hope your October turns out to be absolutely amazing.

    1. Thank you so much. On the first day of October, I couldn’t think of any goals to write down. It’s not that October is particularly busy. I just knew that writing goals wasn’t worth it to me, right now. I understand what you mean about keeping goals flexible, but I like to make them a bit more concrete, otherwise I’d flake and do the bare minimum. I try not to get disappointed at myself when I don’t complete goals. If I give it my all, it’s okay. By the way, I love your blog. It’s really nice. Keep up the good work.
