Hello, lovelies, I recently wrote a post called 20 Things I’ve Learned In 20 Years and ended it by saying that I won’t write another one till I’m 25. This sparked the idea of writing a 25 Before 25 list because they are so fun to read.
To preface this, these aren’t all goals. Think of this more like a bucket list of things that would be cool to do before the age of 25. I’m totally okay with waiting till I’m 40 to get any number of these things done. Even so, I’ve included a bunch of practical goals for myself as well. I hope you all enjoy.
1. Travel To The Three Biggest Countries In North America – I traveled to Canada when I was twenty, so the only country I have left to cross off this goal is Mexico. I realize that the Caribean and Central America are a part of North America and I want to travel to countries there eventually, but for this goal, I just want to visit the main three.
2. Travel To A Country In Asia – It would be cool to travel to all seven continents before turning 30, which is why I put them on this list. Asia is already crossed off since I went to Bangladesh in 2017, but I would love to travel to another one.
3. Travel To A Country In South America – I think my top three countries for South America are Peru, Brazil, and Colombia.
4. Travel To Australia -I have family there, so this should be a doable trip.
5. Travel To Europe – Soon hopefully.
6. Travel To Africa – My top three countries for this continent are Morocco, Egypt, and Tanzania.
7. Travel To Antarctica – Eventually…but probably not before I’m 25
8. Have A 3-6 Month Emergency Fund – The goal is to get this done soon after I graduate.
9. Live Alone At Least Once – After graduating and before getting married, I want to live in an apartment without any roommates. At some point, at least. Probably not right after I graduate.
10. Graduate From College – Duh
11. Learn To Cook Bengali Food (Without Help) – See, I don’t think cooking is that hard. All you really need to know is how to read and how to use kitchen tools. I can do both, so cooking was never much of a challenge. By the time I’m 25, I would like to be able to cook Bengali food without reading a recipe or my mom giving instructions.
12. Start A Retirement Fund – Self-explanatory
13. Go Skydiving – Because I want to.
14. Get A Tattoo – I’ve wanted the same tattoo since I was twelve and I doubt I’m going to change my mind at this point. I would get it right now, except tattoos can be expensive and I have other priorities. Definitely within the next five years, though.
15. Visit Disneyland In California – I’ve been to Disney World in Orlando half a dozen times but have never visited Disneyland. It would be awesome to have visited all the Disney Parks in the U.S. because I love going so much.
16. Get A Job Or Start A Business Working With Special Needs Kids – Basically, have a job in the field that I’m going for. I’m not picky. I’m open to anything right now.
17. Save $25,000 – I remember hearing a statistic about how women are less likely to save $25,000 by the age of 25 than their male counterparts. I can’t find the video, so I can’t give you the exact percentage, but I remember it being way too large. That’s pretty much the reason I added this goal to my list. Because I’m stubborn and think it’s a good number to aim for.
18. Know How To Take Care Of My Car (Myself) – I’m slowly getting there, but still need some help from my dad. I’ve started doing a lot of things on my own like going to the tag office and getting the oil changed every 50,000 miles, but I’ve still got a lot to learn. Especially since women are taken much less seriously when they go to the mechanic compared to men.
19. Finish 100 Books In A Year – I’m working on this in 2019 and I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to complete this goal. It’s easier than I thought it would be.
20. Go To A Really Nice Restaurant – I’ve never been to a restaurant that requires a reservation.
21. Visit 5 New States – I’ve traveled around the U.S a lot in the past 21 years, but my family tends to visit the same places multiple times (I’ve been to New York over a dozen times). I would like to add five new states to this list. We just visited Illinois and Indiana, so I only have three states left to cross this off.
22. Have No Debt – Unless it’s a mortgage, but I doubt I will buy a house by the time I’m 25. I just want to avoid student loans and credit card interest.
23. Be An Extra In A Movie – This is one of those bucket list things I added to this post because I couldn’t think of anything else. I grew up in metro-Atlanta and they film so many movies here. This will be easier for me to cross off than most people. Even so, this isn’t a priority compared to the many other cool or practical things on this list.
24. Volunteer Abroad – I know I won’t ever be able to study abroad, but I think volunteering abroad is possible.
25. Learn To Juggle – Out of all the skills I could have picked, I picked juggling. I don’t know how to juggle. I’ve tried and failed many times, so I may as well keep trying until I get it.
So that’s pretty much it. Sorry for the short post, but I enjoyed writing it. Until next time!

What’s on your bucket list? What would you love to do before the age of 25?
there are 23 countries in North America
You are right, but most travel blogs categorize those countries as in Central America and the Caribbean. I would like to visit countries there as well, but this post was mostly about being realistic about how much travel I can get done in the next 3-4 years if I prioritize it. My travel goals were definitely ambitious, but traveling to Canada and Mexico seemed doable. (I crossed that goal off recently at 22). I’ll change the wording. I understand it being annoying to other people from North American countries.
