Hello, lovelies! We finally made it February. Even though January was an amazing month for me, it dragged on for a while. I’m happy to start month two of 2019.
Without further ado, here are my goals for the month of February.

//How I Did In January//
I completed/made progress on every single goal this month, aside from one, which I will be adding to this month’s to-do list. I’m really proud of myself and can already feel that 2019 is going to be an amazing year.
- Apply For Another Credit Card – Complete.
- Join 3 Clubs – Complete. I’m super excited about them.
- GRE Pre Test + Study Section 1 – Half complete. I took the Pre-Test, but I didn’t study the first section of the GRE book.
- Update Resume – This is the only goal I didn’t make any progress on. I didn’t even start it, which is why it will be one of my goals for this month as well.
- Finish 9 Books – I actually finished more than 9 books: I listened to seven audiobooks, finished two physical books, 7 comic books (which I’m counting as one book in my 2019 reading goal), and two really long 60+ chapter fanfiction/wattpad books. It was a good reading month. When I set the goal of reading 100 books in a year, I didn’t want to be strict about how I tracked everything. I just wanted to make sure I read regularly and I think I’ve done that thus far. I spent significantly more time reading/listening to books rather than watching YouTube and Netflix. I’m not super worried about that resolution anymore because it really feels like a doable goal now.
- Syllabus Assignment List – Complete. And I’ve been using it constantly.
- Organize Blog Menu + Add Work With Me Page – Semi-complete. I’ve been organizing the menu behind the scenes but completely forgot about creating a “Work With Me” page.
- Weekly Goals
- Post On Blog Twice A Week – I did a surprisingly good job at this. I posted twice a week consistently, minus one week, and that was because I was planning on posting a very long anecdotal article that I wasn’t ready to publish yet, so I’m giving myself a pass. There will be one week in February where I publish three posts in one week to make up for it.
- Go Out Twice A Week – Another complete. I had so much fun in January and I really made going out a priority rather than just staying in my dorm all week and only working during the weekend.
- Track Income & Expenses – Complete.
- Work Out 4-5 Times Per Week – Complete, minus the week I had my period.
//My February Goals//
//Update Resume
This is the only goal I didn’t accomplish last month, so I’m making it a priority in February.
//Finish 7 Books
February is both a shorter month and a busier month than January, which is why I’m only aiming to finish seven books. I will most likely surpass this goal, but I don’t want to pressure myself into reading more if I don’t have the time to. I’ll still be on track to finish 100 books by the end of this year
//Special Education Volunteer Opportunity
I was offered a volunteer opportunity at my university and would like to sign up for it, which is why I put it in my goals list. (To remind myself to actually sign up, instead of letting the idea simmer in my head.)
//Finalize Spring Break Trip
One of my best friends and I have been tentatively planning a Spring Break trip to Harry Potter World. I want to have everything finalized by the end of the month (i.e. Buying tickets, road trip budget, etc.). That way, I won’t have to worry about it in March. Same goes for the trip I have planned for this summer.
//Google Adsense & Tailwind
These are my two blogging related goals. I applied to Google Adsense and got in back in 2016, but I still feel wary about putting advertisements on this site. Even so, it’s something I should start doing. I also need to sign up for Tailwind (A Pinterest scheduler), since Boardbooster has shut down. I’ve been meaning to do this for months but haven’t had the time or desire to. Since Pinterest is important for the marketing of this blog, I’m definitely setting up Tailwind in the upcoming weeks.
//Open Linked In Profile
I don’t have one and it’s one of the action steps for one of my 2019 goals. I think this is a long time coming considering all the internships and volunteer work I’ve done for my future career already. It’s smart to have all my professional contacts and references in one place.
//Take One Picture Per Day
This is a fun one for this month. I did SO MUCH stuff in January, but in the last week, I’ve noticed that I didn’t really take many pictures in my day to day. I love taking pictures, even though I seldom post them, but I stopped taking them in college (aside from family get togethers and trips.) I want to take more photos with my friends and at school, because I love all the pictures I took of my day to day life in high school. I need more of those from college.
//Rotate Tires + Wash Car
These are two car-related tasks that I MUST get done this month. I’ve been putting both off for too long. I plan on going to Sam’s Club to get my tires rotated this weekend and I have no idea when I’m going to wash my car. I’ll probably take it through a car wash at some point because the exterior of it is very dirty. I would’ve gotten it cleaned months ago, but my grandfather actually waxed the windows for me in November, and there wasn’t any dire need to clean the rest of it after that. It’s definitely getting done this month because it’s embarrassing how dirty my car is.
//Weekly Goals
- Post Two Blog Posts Per Week
- Go Out Twice A Week
- Article Summaries For All Classes – I have to read a lot of articles for half my classes this semester, so I’m going to write summaries of all of them so that it’ll be easier to study for the tests.
- Work Out 3-5 Times Per Week
//January Recap//
I did a lot of fun stuff in January, but there’s too much to write about, so I’m just going to share a few highlights.
//Karaoke For My Friend’s Birthday
My best friend from elementary school turned 22, and she threw a birthday at a Karaoke lounge. It was so much fun and we definitely plan on going again.
//Spring Semester Started
Classes started again in January and I have a very good feeling about this semester. So far, I’ve been able to stay on top of my classes and think I can get straight A’s. I’ve also gone out more and attended more events. I finally feel like I’m cultivating a community at my new university, which was hard to come by last semester. I’m really happy with how things are going.
I also saw my best friend Stellah multiple times a week, which is a plus.
//Went To Lake Lanier With My Family
My dad had a few weekends off last month, which NEVER happens, so we all drove up to Lake Lanier one weekend and went tobogganing down a fake hill of snow. It was really steep, so the sleds went very fast. It was super fun and a nice memory from last month.
//Went To A Mind Reader Show
This was one of the quirkier university events I went to last month. A mind reader, who was one of the finalists for America’s Got Talent did a show at our school. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was surprised by it. It was really funny and I’m glad I went.
//My Cousin From New York Visited Atlanta
My cousin took a last minute trip to Atlanta in January, so I hung out with him over the weekend. He was in Atlanta for a week, but since I had school, I was only able to see him three times. We just hung out on two of those days and went bowling with a bunch of our other cousins on Saturday. I’ll insert a picture below.
I guess that’s it for now. IUntil next time!
