Here are my other reflections if you want to read them first: 3 Months Into Blogging:Building A Foundation 6 Months Into Blogging:Creating Balance 9 Months Into Blogging:Making Connections 1 Year Into Blogging: I Love This Life Lessons Learned From 2 Years Of Blogging
This is the first year not writing a blogiversary post in my childhood bedroom
I’m currently laying in the top bunk of a surprisingly nice hostel room in Berlin, Germany surrounded by a bunch of new friends. Three of them are watching funny vines made by Australians (They’re from New Zealand), while the other four of us are chilling on our beds.
I don’t really know what to say. My life is in such a different place from where it was three years ago. I think the best part of having this blog is that it helps the time go by slower. Time flies really quickly and writing the past three years has allowed me to reflect on everything that’s changed since graduating three years ago.
I think my life felt very stagnant after my first year of blogging. A whole calendar year had passed and not a lot had changed. My life didn’t look much different and didn’t seem like it was going to change for a while.
My second year of blogging marked the start of my travels. I took three solo trips in the span of five months and really started putting a dent in my dream of travels. Even so, I was writing yet another blogging reflection in my childhood bedroom when the calendar flipped. Things were going to change. At that point, I knew that I was going to move out and transfer to a new college, but the second calendar year as a whole was similar to the first one.
This last year has been full of transition. I moved out of my childhood home and left my special needs sibling, which has been a huge transition for my family. I transferred to another university and had to adjust to that. The icing on the cake is that this third year of blogging ended with me spending a month in Europe, which was a long-awaited dream of mine.
Basically, what I’m saying is that it feels like my life is moving forward and I can recognize that a lot more clearly because of this blog. In terms of Making My Way in general, its growth is pretty much the same. I still love writing, I just spend less time blogging than I used to. I still feel embarrassed when people I know and family members read my blog, but that’s inevitable.
Overall, I still love doing this and I plan on writing here for a long time. We’ll see where it takes me.
//Update
Hello, everyone. I’m back from Europe. I did write this on May 29th, while I was in Berlin, but I never ended up publishing it in time. I was too busy enjoying my travels. I did write travel diaries and will be publishing them within the next few weeks, so look forward to that. I haven’t been very active recently. I scheduled out most of my blog posts for the month of May and decided to reschedule one for later, which is why the site was silent for two weeks. I’ll make it up to you.
