My July Goals | 2019 Powersheets

Hey, guys! I’m not gonna lie, I did not do well on my June Goals. I pretty much recovered from my month-long trip and started my internship. It’s been a great month, it’s just that I haven’t done the best job managing my time. Hopefully, that will change in July.

//How I Did In June//

  • Publish 8 Blog Posts – Nope. I only published five. I’m starting to get ahead on my blog posts for July, so hopefully, I’ll be able to reach my blogging goal, which is albeit easier than last month’s.
  • Establish A Routine – Even though I wasn’t able to get a lot of personal goals done, I did a great job managing my routine. I’ve been waking up early consistently since coming back from Europe and working regular hours five days a week has helped establish my weekly and daily rhythms. I don’t like being idle and the week between coming back from my trip and my internship starting wasn’t the best.
  • Upload Travel Photos To Facebook – Nope.
  • Get A Gym Membership For The Summer – I did get this done, but I did it near the end of the month. I wish I had done it earlier. So far, I’ve been going to the gym on average 3-4 days a week. I’d like to increase it to 4-5 days.
  • Finish 5 Books – Complete. I didn’t read any books in the first half of the month, but I was thankfully able to get out of my reading rut.

It looks like I did really well because I don’t share all my goals online, but trust me, I wasn’t as productive as it looks.

//Finalize Living Situation

I’m super organized, but I always leave paperwork stuff until the last minute. It’s my fatal flaw. I’m really bad about scheduling doctor’s appointments, signing papers, etc. but I need to get that done this month.

//Clean & Organize Room

I don’t even know where to start with this. I moved out a few days before I left the country, so half my stuff is still in boxes in the garage and the other half was stuffed in my closet. I unpacked from my Eurotrip and did laundry, but all that stuff is scattered everywhere. My room is pretty much organized chaos. I kind of don’t see the point of unpacking since I’m moving back to campus next month, but I can’t take it anymore!

//Finish 8 Books

I’m ahead of my goal to read 100 books in a year, but I want to stay ahead.

//Upload Travel Photos & Update 2019 Facebook Page

My family lives all across the country and around the world, so we all keep in contact via Facebook. I’m trying to be better about posting photos for them and just documenting my life in general, so I made a 2019 Facebook page. I’ve only uploaded once, back in March, so I have a lot more to go. Going through my photos every three months seems manageable. Now that we’re in the middle of the year, I should update it before my load of pictures becomes too overwhelming. I also want to post my Europe pictures in an album because then everyone will finally see them. They keep asking, but I don’t think even my parents have seen all the pictures. I need to go through and post them.

//Plan A Get Together WIth My Friends

As my friend Briah said, getting us all together is like an act of Congress. My best friends from middle school are very close, but now we’re adults with jobs and summer classes at different colleges, so planning get-togethers is a big ordeal and calls for a lot of organization. Now that I’m back from Europe and my friend Stellah is back from study abroad, we should be able to plan one. It’s already in the works.

//Weekly Goals

  • Publish one blog post per week – I keep trying to post twice a week, but I can’t do that consistently. My summer blogging schedule is going to be every Tuesday.
  • Go out twice a week
  • Financial check-in – I did not do this at all in June, which is fine since I didn’t spend much money after coming back from Europe, but I need to get back on track.
  • Work Out 4-5 times per week

//Daily Goals

  • Take Vitamins
  • Have A Conversation With Everyone In My House – You’d think this would be simple, but I don’t have conversations with everyone in my family every day. My dad works from home and my grandparents live with us, but I can easily go a day without having a real conversation with them. Same goes with my youngest brother. This isn’t a huge problem behavior. We do talk to each other. I just want to make the most of my last full month being home.

//I Came Home From Europe

Can you guys tell I went to Europe? ??? I feel like I can’t stop talking about it because that’s what everyone asks about. I came home on June 6th. I spent the beginning of the month in Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK. I had a lot of fun. Expect to hear more in upcoming travel diaries.

//I Started My Internship

Easily the biggest part of this month. I’m working with children who have autism with severe problem behavior. It’s hard work and I’m on my feet for the majority of the day, but there have been so many moments where I think to myself, “Yes! This is what I want to do with my life.” Don’t get me wrong, a kid peed on my shoes when I took him to the bathroom the other day, but that’s part of the job and I love it.

//We Took A Weekend Trip To Savannah

My family and I drove up to Savannah one weekend to go to the beach. It was a lot of fun, but we had a few problems regarding my brother Mysoon. He was happy as a horse once we were at the beach, but I’ll talk more about the difficulties of traveling with someone with autism in another post.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my July goals. Happy independence day!
