My March Goals | 2020 Powersheets

Hello, lovelies! Happy March! You know the drill.

Last Month’s Goals – My February Goals | 2020 Powersheets

//How I Did On My February Goals//

  • Continue Job Application Process – I did continue the job application process then decided to wait till this summer to apply for jobs. It just made sense for me given my situation, and I’d like to take a little break before I stop working. Especially since once I start, I’ll probably never be able to stop until retirement.
  • Book Spring Break Trip (If I Plan To Go) – Complete. I did this at the absolute last minute like the majority of the trips I’ve taken since I started college. I asked my aunt if I could stay at her house in New York on Tuesday then booked the plane ticket Wednesday, less than two weeks before my departure. I’ll write about the trip at the end of the month, but my tentative plan is to hang out with my family and wander around. I’ve been to New York over a dozen times and have seen all the big sights. This is just a trip to pass the time I would’ve wasted watching T.V. in Atlanta during the break. I’m mostly just excited to play with my nieces.
  • Publish 6 Blog Posts – Complete. I almost did it consistently every Tuesday, but WordPress has been weird about my images. I wasn’t able to publish my Paris trip post until the last week and decided to move that Tuesday’s post to Thursday. Either way, it’s still six blog posts.
  • Go To The Dentist (!!!) – Let’s not talk about it.
  • Finish 2 Books Per Week – Complete. I read five books, five comic books, and am almost finished with the last two books that I’ll include in my February Wrap-Up. I didn’t really finish two books every week, but the point of this goal was to pick up books in general, so I’m happy with how I did.
  • Track Income & Expenses – I did a great job tracking my income, but not so good of a job tracking my expenses.
  • Work Out 4-5 Days Per Week – Did it! I think there was only one week where I worked out three times, but it was a busy week. I’ll still count this as complete, though.
  • Wake Up Early – Kind of. I woke up early more often than I did in January.

//My March Goals//

//Enjoy Your Last Semester

Since I decided to postpone my job search for a few months, the majority of my goals are about making the most of my last semester of college. Things like study in a coffee shop once a week, meet up with friends more often or find new spots on campus… There are some concrete things I want to do, but this is pretty much a general overarching goal.

//Do Well In All My Classes

AKA, turn in homework on time and follow my study plan. The first week of March is the only really crazy week, but there’s still a decent amount of work to do this month.

//Complete RBT Certification Course

I purchased an online training program to become a registered behavioral technician last month. (It’s something that will help me stand out in my job search). Many of the people I interned under last summer told me this was a good step to take. It’s a 40-hour course and I’ve only finished three hours. I plan to finish the first half this month, then the second half in April. I’ll sign up for the exam in May.

//Make Itinerary And Document Spring Break Trip

I have a tentative itinerary of what I’m going to do and when I’m going to see everyone, but I still need confirmation on some things. I’d like to watch Wicked while I’m there (I bought the ticket yesterday. It was almost the same price as my plane ticket), but other than that, I haven’t made any specific touristy plans.

I have a tendency to write travel blog posts (particularly the ones that take place in America) months later (or never), which is why I would like to publish my Spring Break travel diary at the end of this month rather than next year like I did with my Canada Spring Break post. This should be achievable.

//Publish 6 Blog Posts (Schedule 5 For Every Tuesday)

There are five Tuesdays this month, and I would like to schedule a post in advance for all of them. I’m really trying to work on being consistent, and even though I’ve been hitting my numerical blogging goal, I haven’t been scheduling things in advance. The sixth post is going to be my “Books I Read In February” blog post, which will probably go up on a random Friday.

//Finish 7 Books

This isn’t including the two books I was in the process of finishing the first few days of March. Seven seems like a doable goal, but I plan on reading Dune this month, which is a chunker of a book. We’ll see how it goes.

//Work Out 4-5 Days Per Week

There have been a few times in the last two months where I only worked out two or three times a week. I’d like to stay consistent with my Monday-Thursday workout schedule.

//Journal Once A Week

I have this thing where I only journal when I’m stressed, or sad, or have a lot on my mind. This is fine because journaling helps me process that, but I tend to skip out on journaling when I feel content or happy with life. I’ve also been super busy and haven’t made it a priority to journal since I didn’t have anything to really process. I’d like to write in my journal at least once a week this month because I don’t want my grandchildren to read my journals in fifty years and think my life was depressing. I’d also like to reread the happy parts of college that I don’t give details on in this blog.

//February Reflection//

February was a really fun month. There was maybe one week in the middle that was kind of boring, but for the most part, I read books, hung out with my friends and family, and was pretty productive when it came to school and work (I surpassed my income goal, after not reaching it in January). I’ve stopped feeling sore after lifting weights, which is amazing now that I’ve started weightlifting again post-back-injury.

I was telling my parents about my job search when my family went out to a restaurant last week. My main problem has been that most of the jobs I’m looking at need a person immediately and can’t hold a position for me till June. When I mentioned that, my dad said, “Take a break.” And in my head, I thought, “That’s an option?” It was like a giant weight was lifted off my shoulders. Plus, I’d rather apply for everything at once and choose the best option rather than accepting the first job that will hold the position for me. Plus, there’s a lot of turnover in my career field from what I’ve been told since working with people with disabilities is difficult, so I’m not worried about not getting a job. I spoke with my career advisor yesterday, and he thought it was a valid idea and gave me a list of things I can do in the meantime to prepare. I’ll probably “officially” start my job search after taking a big trip after graduation (depending on how much coronavirus will affect international travel by then)

Lots of stuff happened this month, but I’ll talk about this weekend since February 29th only comes around every four years. On leap day, my family and I went to IHOP for breakfast. I can’t remember the last time we went there, so we stuffed our faces with food. After that, I had work, then went to my cousins’ house because some of our family friends were there. I ended up staying there past midnight and my cousins and I drove to Waffle House for dinner in pajamas. (My cousin straight up gave me pajamas to change into for the drive there) I didn’t get home till 1 AM. My stomach was not happy with me, but it was a fun way to start off March. That pretty much describes February for me. A mod-podge of meetups and eating unhealthy food at restaurants with them.

Well, that’s it for now. I’ll be in New York next week, so I plan on scheduling Tuesday’s post in advance. Until next time!

Oh yeah! It also snowed last month.
